Hello, I recently purchased a Sony Vaio laptop in the store but I want to exchange it for a MORE EXPENSIVE model the 290 with better specs. However, I called them so many times but they say they are an online store and cannot do anything. I cal the store and they say they can't do anything because my offer is a Sony online product. I JUST WANT TO CONTACT WITH SONY so I can explain them my situation. DOES ANYBODY know how I can contact Sony regarding the exchange for my sony vaio IN CANADA. I swear, I AM NEVER EVER GOING TO BUY ANOTHER SONY because of their customer service!!!!!!!!!!!

What and where did you buy from? You should always return it to the place you buy it from. If it is some online store, you have to call that same online store and get an rma.

I bought it at sony retail store near my house. They don't take exchanges.

Take a look at your bill. It says return in 20 days. Do not ask for exchange, just return.

There is a 30 day return policy on the online store.. however I think there may be a clause on CTOs. If you CTO'ed a unit, there may be no returns whatsoever, but they might still exchange.

    Link for you:
    http://www.sonystyle.ca/commerce/se...upport/ShippingNReturns/shipping_returns.html

No returns on CTOs, and exchanges on defectives.

Since you bought from the store, you'll probably have to check with store policy... but I don't imagine it'll be too different.

Store items are 20 days return for computers, and 30 days for other stuff.

From what I understand, he has a model but wants to exchange it for a FW290 correct?

Well first of all, the store is correct in saying the 290 is online only as it is a customizable model. The store can't sell a customizable computer so the stats aren't fixed like some other models >.>

As others have said, you'd be best just to return the laptop o the store you bought it form THEN order the FW290 from sonystyle.ca if you want it.

Funny, when i was planning on getting the fw 190, the sony store employee said, i should order it in store, since they would get it faster. I called sony and they said you can't do instore customized notebooks.
