Anyone know what the policy is when it comes to cancelling orders?

So the deal is, when I first put a CTO Vaio VPCS in my cart on sonystyle (May 17th),
I was given an estimated ship date of May 27.
I left my comp on with the cart, came back on May 18th, and processed the cart,
which changed the estimated ship date to June 2.

Alrite, fine, 4 more days, I can take that; although I need a laptop immediately...
So I pay up with my credit card and the order is processed.

I get an Email on May 20th, around 8:30pm from sony, stating the estimated ship date
is now delayed to June 22nd... June bloody 22nd.

And this might be a coincidence, but they sent me the email AFTER their stated
Closing hours (stated as 8pm), in addition, they sent it on a Friday before a long Holiday
(in Canada Monday is a national holiday), so I can't even act accordingly to this BS
    delay.

I've heard horror stories about Sony's deliveries (from lost shipments to shipments taking over a month),
so I wanna opt out as fast as I can.
Also, I don't have the time to wait a bloody month for this, when I can just go buy
    a substitute product.

Time is money and Sony seems to be just fine wasting mine.

I would just try calling Sony and cancel the order over the phone. If worst comes to worst, you get a 30 day return (maybe shorter for CTO) policy so you can always return the comp after you get it- but of course you'd rather get this matter taken care of sooner rather than later.

    Called Sony this morning.

The guy looked at my order history and completely agreed with me cancelling my order lmfao...

I guess those guys at Sony aren't drones after all.
Estimated Shipping date delay from May 27th -> June 2nd -> June 22nd
seems completely BS and unacceptable, even for people working at Sony. Sad.

At least through this experience I learned Sony's delivery sucks but their
billing policy is good (they supposedly only charge your card After something
    has been shipped out).

I'm pretty sure that's policy everywhere. Or at least they'll only charge you once they have the item in stock (amazon/newegg etc do the same... waiting for my MSI Twin Frozr III GTX 570 on backorder from amazon and they haven't charged me yet). In any case, Sony USA has a 30-day return policy even on CTOs. I've heard in the UK (don't quote me), that CTOs can't be returned.
