I installed a new Western Digital Scorpio 250GB hard drive in my SZ160P and I need to recover my C drive. Originally I had loaded the image of my old C drive on this new HDD...but that gave me problems with System Restore (because of the different HDDs). I just need to recover using my VAIO Recovery DVDs, but I keep getting an "Error 301". I tried contacting Sony, but when I asked what "Error 301" was code for, they old me "it is not appropriate to know the specifics in this situation"...that pissed me off =/.

Hopefully someone can help, thanks in advance!

    Hi VietNinja,

May I know which part of the recovery did you get the Error 301 when you were using the recovery discs?

whwtan -- I don't remember exactly where it stopped in the process, but it was somewhere around 90% on the first DVD. I chose the "Restore C: drive" option.
