Every time I try to install the windows Upgrade ...as either an Upgrade or Clean Install I get a window popping up saying a file could not be written.
Tried It over and over with no success.

    Anyone have any suggestions??
Also, when it asks if I should look for Internet update of the installation program I can no longer get connected to internet. Seems the installation somehow deleted my network driver...which I have no way of getting now.

Anyway...It says to disconnect any internet connections!!@ So why even ask to look for Connection updates???

Personally I think the instructions are poor. having to delete so many things by "hand"?? why not just have one disc that overwrites everything.

don't give up. the same thing happened to me after having chosen upgrade. i hit cancel and waited - leaving the windows disc in the drive. the installation began and apparently was successfully completed. this was a few hours ago, so i can't be sure what glitch may crop up when i begin really using my laptop, but it seemed fine with the little i did try. (i have the 490J btw.)
