    Hi

I got my new Carbus-Cardreader today and wanted to plug it in. However, Vista does not react at all like it does not see the reader. The cardbis controller (Texas Instruments) is installed and working according to Vista but the cardreader is not regocnized. I tried several rebots, nothing helped.

Any idea??? I cannot use the exresscard reader since my expresscard slot holds a 8GB-SSD for readyboost and backup purposes. I need a cardreader (for SD-Cards) though and really searched for a cardbus (aka pc-card) one because they should be faster.

    Any ideas???

Update: I tested it on my wifes laptop which is a Samsung Subnotebook running XP. This one also has a TI Cardbus controller (different one though) and it also does not react to the reader at all.

So the most logical guess would be that the cardread is faulty. Or?

No no, I'm not referring to the express card adapter that Sony provided. That ones works perfectly ok. I mean the slot on the left (the PCMCIA/Cardbus/PC-Card). My express card slot is taken by a 8GB SSD. I therefor wanted a fast cardreader for SD-Cards for my DSLR. The one I got seems faulty. I already ordered a Panasonic one (fasted there is on the market) and will see how it goes. If that seems dead also, my slow must have some issues.
