    Howdy everyone,

It looks like ATI's Catalyst 10.6's don't work with my friend's new eb17fx Sony laptop. With Omegadriver out of order, I've not been able to find any other "modified ini" drivers that might work. The stock drivers are about 8 months old, and we're having trouble with HDMI out for Dolby DTS that would appear to be correctable with some new drivers.

Has anyone found newer drivers for this model laptop?

You don't need modified drivers, ATI's work fine. Lazy copy/paste of what I just posted in E-Series thread:

They're not oficially supported by either Sony or ATI, but you can still install the latest drivers. ATI's official method of installing is via their downloader utility, which blocks Sony machines. But you can bypass it by just downloading the raw intaller file rather than going through the downloader utility.
