i was looking at the SonyStyle webpage and was a little bit confused by this. If someone could help me out that'd be great. I've attached a link to the comparison page that I was looking at.
In the Processor row it says: Intel Core 2 Duo
BUT, in the technology row it says: Intel Centrino 2 Technology

Can someone clear this up for me please...

Ok, the link didn't send you to where I thought it would. Try this... Under Performance it says Intel Core 2 Duo Processor but right beneath that it says Intel Centrino 2 Technology.

*edit: Click on the Specifications Tab -
Centrino 2 is the platform, also known as Montevina. ( wiki link)
Core 2 Duo is the processor.
The platform Centrino 2 consists of chipset, CPU (Core 2 Duo) and wireless. -
So the Montevina platform didn't upgrade the cpu at all? It only increased the wireless and chipset?
-
Montevina still uses a Penryn CPU, but now it has lower Thermal Design Power and a higher Front Speed Bus.
That means it's technically the same CPU but running a bit cooler and a little bit faster.
From seeing the first benchmarks, the speed differences are very small.
Theoretically it should mean a cooler laptop with better battery life, but we will have to wait for the reviews if this actually true.
Centrino 2 Technology?
