Has anyone had any experience with changing parts while laptop is in production? I want to change my S13A's 640m LE to a 2GB from the 1GB I set it as.

My laptop went into production yesterday but I cant call sony since they don't open until Monday. Could I change my GPU and pay the extra or do I need to get a new laptop?

    Sent from my GT-I9100

You MAY still have a chance of cancelling your order BUT its entirely depends on Sony Customer Service advisor. Also they may charge you a small cancellation fee provided if they haven't sent it to you yet. The fine print may also impose different terms, eg, Once its dispatch, unless it faulty, they wont accept returns bcos its a custom build etc.
With regards to upgrading the GPU Ram from 1gb to 2gb, its not as simple as changing a hdd or memory stick or even the CPU. the memory are solder onto the mainboard. The only way you can change the ram is to change the entire motherboard.
So essentially, what you are asking is not that simple..simple for sony just to change the board IF they want, but from your point of view, you are asking Sony to possibly cancel your order and reorder a different spec laptop.

Do you really need 2GB? For gaming, negligible difference
