    Hi guys,
    Does anybody know how replace DVDdrive on vaio z series with another DVD drive or Bluray drive? is it possible by user?

    That depends on the user -- some people can't change a car fuse themselves, while others replace the stereo and adjust the spark plugs.

    If you have a well-lit and large empty work space, a decent screwdriver set, a small dose of patience and a lockable door, I think most anyone should be able to do it. Just remember rule #1 of repair work: Never force a screw; if it doesn't screw back in easily, something is not aligned right.

    I agree, It depends on user, but replacing DVD drive was very easy in my previous non Vaio Z laptops, Only one screw!

    It's not hard to change the drive.

    The onyl tricky part is removing the frame to get to the screw.

    Don't forget that you need a SATA drive and that drive bezel will need to be exchanged too and, however small, there is a possibility it (bezel) does not fit because it's attached at different points. Not a big problem but drive with wrong bezel will look "out of place."

    I don't think that there exists a drive which will fit the Vaio Z and doesn't have the standardised bazel attachement pointst.
