I am using the xpal xp 18000 with my z12... but no matter how long I leave the xpal charged in a standard outlet, only 2 out of the 4 battery indicator lights are on. Are 4 out of 4 suppose light up when fully charged? Thanks in advance

Yes 4/4 should come on, and the lights will stop blinking. Maybe you got a faulty one. Its directions did say it would need a real long charge first time. (6 hours or something)

One thing I did notice when plugging in my Z to it (when xpal is not plugged in), the lights do drop down to about 2 fairly quickly. But it does roughly double my battery life.

You are attempting to charge the xpal without the Z attached, correct? (in my experience it's possible to charge them both at the same time however, using my coolermaster usna95)

Thanks... I will order a new one... as I brought it cheap on ebay... I am using a coolermaster to charge the xpal by it self.
My first charge I left it on overnight and only had 2/4 lights on. Guess it is a faulty unit.

I got a cheap one I ebay too and mine seems ok. Which CM tip are you using to the xpal? I use the blue one.

I am using the green CM tip... maybe that is the problem... Right now the xpal is not charging at all with the green one.. but before it did. I will try the blue CM tip when I get home.

I assume also you've tried the standard xpal AC charger. that will tell you for sure if it's faulty
