Is there a way that I can verify that my Cingular WWAN hardware is properly installed without actually signing up with Cingular? I did not see WWAN hadware anywhere in the device manager. I have SZ381P
Thanks in advance!

Is WWAN supposed to show up in the device manager if I don't sign up with Cingular? Right now, in the device manager, all I see under Network Adapter are 1394 Net Adapter, Bluetooth, Intel Pro Wireless, Marvell Yukon Ethernet Controller but nothing for the WWAN. Is this normal?

You gave to enable WWAN via WWAN/WLAN/BT switch and then via connection utility. That doesn't sign you up on network, it's just power your WWAN adapter on.

OK, I did enabled the switch and run SmartWi Connection Utility. When I run the utility, it asked me to subscribe to Cingular. But the WWAN hardware still not shows up in the device manager. I mean, isn't it supposed to be there even though I don't use it? I mean when you install a new modem or a new ethernet card, they are there in the device manager even though you have not subscribe to any ISP.

If modem is disabled it will not show in device manager (I had Vaio T350 with same EDGE modem).
If modem is enabled (you hear the sound when enabling it, just like you pluged USB device in USB port), you shoud see it.
