I have an S150 with 1GB of memory. When playing back DVDs I seem to get a "choppy" effect. I have tried several different movies with the same result. Has anyone else experienced this? Any thoughts? Thanks.

What DVD software/player are you using? Does this happen with all player software or just a particular one?

I recently experienced this on an older Vaio. The discs I was reading were dual and triple layer DVDs. I wouldn't call it choppiness...it was more like start...stop...start...stop. I put the DVDs in a newer laptop (Fujitsu P7010D) and they played just fine. I then put in a regular DVD into the Vaio and it played fine. So it might be your discs.

I called Sony tech and we finally figured out that it was a "system resource" problem basically attributable to Mcafee virus scan.
