    I realize that this has been brought up before but none of the other threads actually answer the question;

    I just received a new S270 and have made the recovery disks. I'm confused my the restore options (system, applications, etc). Is it possible to do a clean install of WinXP home from these recovery disks - with nothing but the OS being installed? If so, what am I missing in order to find it ??

    Thanks so much;
    Bob

    It depends on your recovery options. I have one Vaio that came with recovery discs. When running the application, the menu had choices for System (Just the OS and drivers), Applications (Just the extra software), and a Full Restore (OS and Apps).

    It seems as if you have the same options available. Selecting System should only restore the OS and device drivers.
