I saw the guide "Clean Vista install WITH NO ACTIVATION" in the Hp, Compaq and Voodoo PC forum and was wondering if there is any reason this would not work on an AW Series and SR Series laptop? I have a full retail disc of Windows Vista Home Premium (but does not have SP1 installed). I am considering getting an AW Series and my wife already has a SR Series.
If I understand correctly, I can use the Windows Vista Home Premium disc and install Windows Vista Ultimate because of the key I'm using if I purchased a laptop with Vista Ultimate. Is this correct? Does the disc need to be 64-bit if I purchase a laptop with 64-bit Ultimate?
P.S.: I am not trying to post a link to another site, the URL is on this site, so why is it saying "You are only allowed to post URLs to other sites after you have made 15 posts or more."?

Sony's got at least SOME drivers up on their site for 32-bit Vista (business, but I guess they work on any). But I don't know that there's any way to get the Blu Ray software installed on a new OS.
I don't even know if it's possible to reinstall the original OS on a new hard drive from the backup discs you can create :-/ -
The clean install method will work in any PC. You need a 64 bit disc to install 64 bit vista. Also vista ultimate retail has both 32 and 64 bit versions of the discs included.
