I have followed a few threads on a clean Vista Install on Vaio SR.

Things seem simple enough. i.e. use an original Vista DVD (I am using Vista Business to replace the Vista Home Premium that came preloaded on mine) to install Vista as per normal.

Download all original sony drivers for the SR from the sonystyle website.

I have a SR140E with Vista Home premium. I installed Visa Business with a Vista DVD and as per the instructions, started by installing the firmware extension parser and then the sony shared library and so on.

From what I can tell, the extension parser installed correctly because it tells me that it installed correctly and press "finish" to continue etc.

But when I install Sony Shared Library, it starts and when i'm at the "installation in progress.. please wait" screen, it just exits without any error or other notification. I get a "this program may not have installed correctly" message and if I click on "reinstall with recommended settings" i get an error saying "This application can only be run on Windows Vista"

Later on, some of the drivers do the same thing (display driver, fingerprint scanner etc.)

    Any help is greatly appreciated.
