Hi guys! Recently I got a Vaio fw290 which came with 64-bit vista loaded with crapware, so I decided to clean install. I installed 32bit, but no drivers are out for 32bit. So i looked on 190+ drivers page since theyre alike and i saw that Sony added XP drivers to fw298 so i decided to run XP on my fw. But my laptop comes with AHCI hd, so XP is throwing BSOD. How would I overrun that? BIOS, via F2 looks very restricted allowing only to change boot sequence and not ahci/raid. is there another "bios" screen or what should i do?

I don't know much about laptops quite yet, but I think that the manufacturer (sony in your case) locked the bios.

I would say that you should try to download a Custom "User Made" Bios but that could end up killing your Laptop and also voiding your warranty.

I would just stick with Windows Vista 64, I know it may not be appealing, but untill drivers come out, It is the best suggestion that I can give!

    Sorry.....

yeah, thanks thats what im probably going to do since the only other option is modifying XP to include that driver, which is sorta complicated and messy.

meh, vista isnt that bad anyways.
