Hi guys
I recently purchased a Sony Vaio FZ21Z laptop which I totally love. It's been fantastic on everything, but one small thing concerns me. I have the following spec:
http://www.hpsales.co.uk/extra.asp?pn=VGNFZ21Z.CEK
which has the "HDD: 300GB/Go" and every now and then, it makes a weird sounding clunk. The only way I can describe it is like a marble being dropped.
Has anyone else with this laptop experienced this, and is it anything to be worried about?
Thanks!

Im only guessing, but i think it might be a Shock Protection. On my old laptop i had Shock Protected HDD, when you moved the PC a little bit it would move the harddrive with the computer and made kinda a noise simmilar to yours. Not that loud though. Im not sure but thats the best i can do
Hope I could Help -

Which model of HDD (Device Manager will reveal)?
Some of the Samsung HDDs make an occasional clunk as discussed here.

Hi there, thanks for your replies
It happens at any time, while idle or not..and when the PC isn't being moved at all, just stationary on the table.
In Device Manager it says: FUJITSU MHX2300BT
I am going to search for a diagnostic thingy for it -
I don't really know anything about a clunk but uhh... your dalek is sexy.
