I want to replace the hard drive in a Vaio TX with an SSD. However, given that it uses the 50 pin ide connector the only option I have found is the Photofast G-monster V.4 which costs about $600 for 128GB ($400 for 64GB).

As an alternative I want to try using a Compact Flash card using an adapter such as this:

PROVANTAGE: StarTech.com IDE502CFE IDE to CF SSD 1.8 inch 50pin Enclosure Adapter

The question is. What is the best choice for a Compact Flash card when used as an SSD. I realize that for the function they have in cameras and such, they tend to be optimized for fast sequential access. For a PC ones needs are different.

So, the question for all is: What is the best 64GB (or 32GB) CF card to use as an SSD?

    -bump-

Anyone have any thoughts on which CF is better to use as an SSD?
