Hi everyone,
I just lost the power supply for my Sony TX57GN/B - I remembered it was an 18V model.
Does anyone have any recommendations for compatible power supplies? I'm looking to get _TWO_ this time, for home and workplace.
Buying the original from Sony is soooo expensive, much less two.
Regards,
Kelvin

I purchased a belkin psu for my old toshiba. I havn't had any issues with it and it would probably save a few $$ over a sony one

The Belkin looks good, but my concern is whether the power adapter head will fit my Sony TX-57.
In short, does anyone know does Sony uses a standard head for all their notebooks, or does the head differs with each series such as FZ, CR, SZ, etc.

I think Sony use the same plug tip but some notebooks need 16V and others need 19V. The TZ is probably 16V.
iGo have a good database of compatible tips for their PSUs. You may be able to to use this to figure out tip compatibility between different Sony models.
Once you are comfortable about the tip type then you can look around for other PSUs with the Sony tip and the right voltage. The standard 90W PSUs are probably the least expensive. Since you don't plan to move the PSUs around the size is not an issue. I use the same approach: One PSU at home and one in the office.

The one i got came with 10 different heads and 2 different power settings. A little research before you buy one could save you alot of hassle
