    Quick question that I can't seem to find the answer to about the SSD configurations in the new Z series.

    On the sony site, they have multiple configs for the SSD, for example 256GB SSD is listed as "RAID0" with "256GBx1". This is confusing for obvious reasons.

    I've heard mention of Quad-SSD configuration (64GBx4) but don't see that option in the site which leads me to believe that their information on the site is just plain confusing :)

    Can someone give me the secret decoder ring here on how many drives are in each configuration?

    From what I remember it's
    512GB=4x128 (Quad)
    382GB =3x128 (Triple)
    256=?
    192=128(2x64)+64 (Triple)
    128=2x64 (Dual

    256gb is dual raid for US/Canada models and quad raid for europe and asia models.

    Cool. So the fastest options would be 512GB in the US.
    Followed by 384GB/192GB.

    yup. sadly i found this out AFTER i placed my order on a 256gb ssd configuration. If i had known, I would have saved the $175 and got the 192gb ssd instead since I can always use an external hdd for extra storage. :( i hope the difference between dual and triple raid isn't too noticeable in everyday use...

    I did the same, I ordered the 256GB before the difference was benchmarked! I called to see if I could change it to the 192GB and they could not...

    Does anyone think its possible to change the 128x1 disk to a 64x2 through software/firmware?

    Well that's not too likely. But I hope that sometime they will let me buy another 128x1 and plug that in for a triple raid 384
