I am confused by the multitude of SZ models. Can anyone please explain what the differences are and why there are so many?
Since the Sony store is out of stock, I've been browsing Newegg which has about a billion models:
140/240/320/340/370/360/430... and each has some P number after it.
Are the only differences the configuration of options (HD, Ram, CPU, etc.)? If so, Sony went out of their way to make it excessively confusing. But maybe the model number correspond to more subtle differences in the styling, hardware, or BIOS that isnt mentioned.
I am aware of the differences between the premium and standard versions, this is not what i am talking about.
For example, if I wanted a machine with 2.0GHz, 1Gig Ram (1x1G), DVD Burner, Webcam, 120GB HDD, NO WWAN (Edge), not premium, which model should I buy?
I dont particularly want the fingerprint reader either, but I think that comes with the webcam, and I want the cam.
Thanks!

Basically if u see any SZxxxP/C means it is premium carbon fiber. SZ have two different kind of models they are the thick version and the thin version. If you get a SZxxP/C that means it is the thin version and it cost more. Also you don't really need to look at the numbers it is just the letters that matters. If you want something specific I suggest you go to sony.com and build your own. I think you should get a SZ340 that should match everything you want, but im not sure if it has the edge. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16834117322 check it out. By the way SZ340 is the thick version and the LCD screen is not as good as the thin version and the battery life is a little bit less than the thin version one as well.
