I really want to buy a notebook from Sony, they look very stylish, good and moder, but I have a few questions, mainly about FE serios (15.4'', Core Duo, etc.)

    1. Does it really take that long time to start notebook?
    2. Software, after reading the last review about Sony FE I was kind of scared by the fact that Sony doesn't give any CD's with WinXP SP2 on it. Is it hard to make one using recovery system installed on the notebook?
    3. Is it hard to install additional RAM on the notebook?
    4. FE550, 570, 590, whats the difference except for 5-7-9?

    Thank you very much
P.S.: I've worked with PC's since 1998, so I know them very well. By "hard" I mean really hard to do osmething :)

Cons of Sony??? The amount of crap they install, and the difficulty in getting a fresh version of Windows working.

    raise my hands and legs

you HAVE to install the drivers / programs in certain order for clean install. Miss "1", your FN key might not work, miss more than one you have to do it all over again!

A copious amount? A couple maybe, but "copious" is a little bit of an exaggeration. :p

Sony isn't the only company that loads on the bloatware. I actually had less on my Sony than I did on my Dell. I guess by fresh copy of Windows, you're referring to one you bought yourself...but using the restore discs, you are able to get a bloatware free install quite easily by following the guide posted in this forum.

Sony has a lot compare to Fujitsu.

Fujitsu came with nothing. Just all the essential stuffz, I was kinda happy.
