    Hi

In the past few days, once in a while after I put the laptop (Sony SZ) in standby mode, after waking up the contrast will be at a minimum.

If I then change the contrast with the Fn+F6 key it goes immediately to the previous contrast (like you see the thermometer bar going from 1 to 8 directly).
However after 4-5s it goes back to the minimum contrast.

Any idea what this could be? It's very annoying it only goes back to normal after I reboot the PC.

This laptop is running a clean install of Windows XP with all the latest drivers and utilities...

If it's the Sony Event service you're referring to I am already running the latest version.
Or am I missing what I should be upgrading?

You need to turn off or change the settings in the nvidia control panel. I forget what it's called right now. Something to do with power settings/auto dimmer.
