I was wondering if anyone else has tried this adapter.. is there a humming sound to the adapter when you have it plugged in? Sounds a bit like coil hum, but want to make sure that mine is not faulty.

Got the same adapter...It has the sound that you're refering to. I have to put my ear close to the adapter to hear it. Hopefully others can chime in here to see if the same thing occurs...

It depends on whether you have it under load and what type - USB, laptop, both. Sometimes it's noticeable, sometimes it's almost gone.

    Isn't that just the transformer?

It's a switching power supply, no transformer, most likely uses single coil/inductor for energy storage. The hum is determined by switching frequency.

I have the same adapter. Like warrior811, I can only hear it if I press my ear against it. However, it is noticeably louder than the stock adapter that came with my Z. Maybe I just have bad hearing like warrior811 XD

Just had mine for about 2 weeks, and don't notice any humming at all right now (In a fairly quiet lab).
