Hi guys,
First off this is my first post on your great site and I have been learning so much from your site but I have some questions. I have a Sony TZ150n/b (w/upgraded 2GB Ram to turn it into a TZ170n/b) and was wondering if the Cooskin is a must have? Does it make the computer look/feel gross? How is the typing on it?
Also, what is the best case? First I had my mind made up I wanted the cool leather sleave that comes w/the special addition TZ but after reading some posts about cases w/a shoulder strap and it made a lot of sence. Does sony make a case with a strap for the TZ that is cool and fits the computer like it should?
Oh and what are your thoughts about me buying the P1 TZ100 Series Recovery Set from Portable One? Is it alot easier to use that than to try and take out all the bloatware myself? Does that disk include all the drivers?
Thanks I'm sorry if most of this was asked/answered but I swear I read this whole site from top to bottom on all TZ topics..

OK I just ordered the TZ100 Recovery Disk. So all the crap is taken out huh? Is there anything that is good that will be lost? Useful programs or anything like that?
-
Well I'd say no. Someone might value norton/office trials but I don't. It's easy to put in afterwards. After you've installed with the P1 disks you should have a clean vista with only the drivers and the sony programs. (I don't have the disks myself so correct if I'm wrong)

Thank you for replying..
No I don't care about the demo's. I just ment stuff from sony that might be important.. or does it just take the stuff out like AOL (I hope) Norton, Office demo, Napster, blah blah blah? -
I recommend the CooSkin but i can`t speak for the TZ version as i have SZ version cut up to fit my JP keyboard.
It does look a little ugly but i tell you now my keyboard underneath looks brand new still. No "polish" marks or missing key letters after prolonged use. It makes typing a little funny but you get used to it after a while and the piece of mind it brings if you spill liquid cannot be underestimated. It easy to clean, thin and made from strong silicon. I think i paid like $10 for it so you can`t go wrong. -
All the important stuff ought to be there. After installing with their discs you should have a smoothly running comp with all the sony utilities but none of the trials.

Thanks guys.. Anyone with a picture woth the cooskin? I'm still up in the air if I should get it or not...
-
Definitely get it... 6 months of intense use and my vaio tz looks brand new. No micro scratches on the piano black finish or oil marks from wear.

Picture I took of it are in that thread. -
OK OK I'll buy it right now
I hope my computer comes because if I got scammed I will have all this stuff that I will have to sell on ebay...P1 & cooskinHey on there web site they have like 3 different kinds but we can only get that one in the US?
-
From where do you plan buying the cooskin?
I sent an email to www.cooskin.com and noone responded! The only way is e-bay? -
I was going to get it on ebay. Is that high $10 for cooskin and an other $10 for S&H? Anyone else have any places where we could get it? To bad we didn't have anyone who could set up like a group buy or something so we could have got some discount
or a special edition Notebookreview model that is some cool color
-
Its too bad it isn't sold by a reputable dealer like PortableOne.com.
-
Be sure to buy a case. My LCD's broken after 3 months, not intensive usage.
And I carry it in a Tumi bag ....
No drops whatsoever ... anyways who would ill-treat such a pretty notebook ... -
Keru it broke that easy? Did u use to put it in a book bag w/books or something? I hope I didn't do the wrong thing
I wanted to be the envy of the Cafe w/my cool TZ how cool will I be if I have to use duck tape to keep the lid on
-
Hmm.. Think you have a point there.. A duck-taped-lid-sz doesn't sound that appealing as it should..
