Tom's hardware has an article today about Merom (Core 2 Duo). In the article he notes which chipsets are compatible with Core 2 Duo. Apparently, some existing Core Duo notebooks may be able to accept the newer Core 2 Duo Chips. I've got a Vaio FE550G. Was wondering if this series notebook will be upgradable ?

From most of what I've read, you need a BIOS update to go to Merom - don't know if that will happen for the FE or not.

For the sake of system performance, I would rather sell it and buy the new.
