I just ordered a Vaio P (black) to play with. I know its limitations, but I've always wanted a UMPC. (And dang, this is a nice looking machine. :D )

I also remember how much a computer this size used to cost ($2K+) so I don't mind what I paid for it. All I will be using it for is general word processing and some surfing.

    My questions:

    (1) I only bought the 64gb SSD model. I figured I can throw in a 32gb SD card / Memory Stick to expand if I need to. However, if I change my mind is there anyplace that will upgrade the SSD without voiding my warranty?

    (2) I remember reading there was some adapter nonsense in the old models for the SSD that affected speeds. (SATA to PATA?) Is this still the case?

Anybody else recently get one of these new models? What do you think?

    Thanks in advance!

I broke a Dreamcast controller once (I think it was a fighting sequence in Shenmue), but I usually refrain from smashing anything over $100. :p

I found a review that says the Generation 2 has a SATA interface for the SSD instead of PATA and is noticeably faster than the Gen 1.

Just spent another $30 on the sleeve (expensive!) and I'm considering the vga/lan adapter for another $50. Sony accessories aren't cheap! C'mon, my original PSP came with this same type of sleeve for free.

Should receive the laptop tomorrow, and have it smashed by the weekend. :D
