Hi, I just have a few quick questions about the Sony SZ680 before making my final purchase.
    1. Does anyone know if the electric static problem that plagued the other SZ series affect the newer SZ models?
    2. Does the sz680 support sata300 and e-sata?
    3. What drive is the default 5400rpm drive and does anyone know of a company that will install a Seagate momentus without voiding the warranty?
    (p1 only uses Hitachi drives)
    Thanks for any help!

    Zerga,

Per sonystyle staff -- warranties by sony cover all hardware placed by them -- and they allow you to upgrade hardware but will not warranty any upgraded hardware

i.e. if you put in a new harddrive -- the harddrive is not warrantied but the rest of the system of is (and if you have a problem, just put the old hard drive back and its fine) -- this is word for word from the sonystyle tech
