Personally i got the Z555dnb for $1799. retail:1999 still within return period. But concider the canadian dollars are very very low. and japanese currency is going up. I think the new model will be more expensiver.
    Coming up canadian model:
    VGN-Z620D
    http://www.docs.sony.com/release/SPECS/VGNZ620D_mksp.pdf

    z690CTO
    http://www.sonystyle.com/webapp/wcs...Id=20153&langId=-1&LBomId=8198552921665746555

Here is what i do the math:
z590cto is 185 dollars more than a pre-configured model like z555dnb with the same spec.
That means cto is 135 more than pre-configured
On the z690cto page. p8600 is gone, only p8700. upgrade from 8600 to 8700 is 150 different.
Now back to the z620d spec (p8600,4gb,320hdd)
    I configure z690cto as same spec(except with a p8700) as the z620d, price:2578.
    Now 2578-150(cpu)-185=2243=VGN-Z620D
Sony might make it like 2199.99
    VGN-Z620D(p8600,4gb,320gb 7200) 32bit $2199
    (can't use 4gb even under 32bit)
    VGN-Z555DNB(p8600,3gb,250gb 5400) 32bit $1999
so, for extra 200 dollars for the 1gb ram and a bigger faster hdd.
but consider i pay mine 1799 as a deal. for 400 dollars different maybe not worth it.

yeah I don't think it's really worth it.

If you can get a 320 7300 otherwise though, it's worthwhile.

Well I also got the Z555/DNB for $1899 with a 3 year warrenty. And noticed this new Z620. Its the same thing like mentioned above with just more RAM and Hard Drive installed. I mean big deal, not worth that much more as you can easily walk into your local computer store and do that yourself. So Thank GOD I didnt wait for this one to come out. I thought they would have added a lot more to it then just that.

Well I have found even newer 6.2.0.7400 drivers from Anycom which seem to work. They do install to "program files/anycom" though.

I have also tracked down what looks like Bluetooth 2.1 UHE firmware for the VGN-SZ750N/C. The version of the firmware however is HCI 4.143 LMP 4.8557 which seems to be older than the firmware on my Vaio Z HCI 4.218 LMP 4.8594. I haven't attempted to install it however.

Intresting info, is there anyway to extract and apply just the firmware to Z to make it 2.1 EDR ?
