I really want to get a customized SZ but i can't find one with exactly the features I want -- was wondering if there are any 3rd party resellers that are able to customize the laptop more than sony can.

    looking at the sz480 options:

    want the premium lcd
    want 2gb of ram
    want the camera

    don't want 80gb hd (want 60gb)
    don't want the WAN

basically i want the flexibility of options offered in the non-premium model but want the premium lcd on it if possible

    any way to do that?

Your best bet is customizing your SZ on Sony the best you can, and then switch out what you want. Take a look at the SZ480 @ Sony.com. You have the option to be without the WAN antenna, but with the carbon fiber casing. As for the hard drive, 20GB isn't a big difference, but if you really would prefer a 60GB just sell the 80GB, and buy yourself a 60GB. Good luck.

The premium LCD comes with the 480... it's a beautiful thing; the first laptop that I have to actually turn the brightness down sometimes.

ONLY 60 gigs?... I couldn't do without the 200... but then again I remember when I didn't think there was any way that you could fill up a 40MB drive.

    Cheers!
