I went into Documents & Settings\Chris\Start Menu because it is cluttered; I want to create new folders and so on. but inside this folder I only see around 5 icons, rather than the 30+ that actually exist in my start menu - as if they're ''hidden''. Is there a way to unhide them? I'm using an FE21M.

Look in Documents & Settings\All Users\Start Menu and Documents & Settings\Default User\Start Menu as well.
Alternately, in Windows Explorer, look at Tools - Folder Options - View Tab - "Show hidden files and folders" -
BTW, unless you want to create folders, you can drag and drop between existing ones directly from the Start Menu.

Hey there thanks a lot for helping me out. It wasn't in default user but "All Users". You've done your good deed of the day
