I was planning on customizing my SZ (I'm in the US) but I just realized that I'm not sure whether the customized SZ has a carbon fiber case or a magnesium alloy case. Does anyone know?

I think the only customizable model on SonyStyle.com (US store) is SZ140 which is a non-premium model. That means its not carbon.

Customizing aside, the only models with carbon are the premium models of SZ 150-180. The magnesium case is on the non-premium models SZ 110-140.

I'm selling my SZ160P/C with a silver keyboard, because I swapped out the black one and put it into my SZ90OPS. My SZ160P/C comes with 512Mb instead of 1024. Apart from this, its as it came in the box, although without the the original box. I prefer the silver keyboard to type on, whereas I prefer the black on for looks.

However, before anyone gets their hopes up, I'm in Chile and this means that postage might be dear.

Is there a difference in the quality or feel of the silver keyboard over the black one? (i.e. why do you prefer the silver to type on?) Where did you get an extra keyboard from?

Two keyboards because I have two laptops an SZ90PS and an SZ160P/C.

I prefer the silver one to type on, but I still don't know why.
The keyboard stands out more on the laptop when its silver, because it reflects the ambient and LCD light onto the surrounding case and palm rest, wihch also makes them a lighter colour, and because of this the laptop seems slightly larger. Of course, they're really both the same.

I'm sticking with the black one because it will cover up my fingerprints when I type after eating candyfoss.

Comparing just the keyboards alone, I think the silver one looks quite cool.

As far as actual typing goes, I can feel no difference..

Thanks for the reply, zii. I think I prefer the look of the black keyboard with the carbon fiber case because it gives a sort of cool, Darth Vader look.
