HI,
I noticed this model ships with 2 GB og DDR 2 Ram..
Can i Upgrade this to DDR3 with two new sticks? - or won't the MB support it?
Thanks
-
No. You cannot upgrade DDR2 to DDR3, as they have different physical dimensions. Is there a sticky on this in the Hardware section? Thread should be closed.
-
No you can not.
-
I believe you have seen a typo. AFAIK all Z come with DDR3 memory.

Hmm..
Try look here: http://www.advizia.com/v41/PDF/B2B-17665351-173.pdf
Under Memory it says:
Type: DDR2 SDRAM
Installed: 2GB PC3-8500 (1GBx2)
Maximum: 4GB
Speed: 1066MHz
So.. can i buy some PC3-8500 DDR3 Sticks and put in?
thanks. -
As far as I know PC3 = DDR3. The specification is not consistent (Type says DDR2, Installed says PC3).
-
Yea, those specs are wrong. All Z series notebooks use DDR3 memory.
-
ok... then that is solved
- thanks for your help!
