I have a dead Sony PCG-71311L (VPCEB2AFD) laptop, it shuts down every few seconds after booting due to some missing BIOS files I think. I had posted earlier about my particular laptop. I am wondering if there is a website from where I can download a BIOS file that I can flash from DOS. The ones on Sony's website I hear can't be flashed from DOS, I tried, and sure enough, I get an error. Another thing; my BIOS reports the following:

    BIOS Version: R0300Y8
    EC Version: K0300Y8
    ME Version: 0.0.0.0

Can the missing ME firmware be the culprit? In the few seconds after POSTing before it shuts down I get this error: "ME Firmware Update Failed. Please try again." If there is anything anyone here can suggest I try I will be glad to hear it. Thanks.
