Your customer service is utterly pathetic. I still haven't had a
callback despite calling twice, being promised Monday, then
'definately Tuesday'. I want my money back. You are clearly too
incompetent to provide any customer service. No response in 6 weeks.

I have now even called for support on 21/11/07 but as of the end of
business day have still not had an adviser call me as of end of
business day 26/11/07. Does Sony provide any customer support any
    more?

    Hi,

Following ongoing problems with my new Vaio running Vista, a return
of the laptop to Sony, and phone conversations with customer
support, I submit some screenshots showing how Vista is unable to
test itself and reports poor performance of every major component
even after a fresh install. As a result Vista will only work on the
most basic level, automatically switching off Aero. I am still very
concerned about the performance report that Vista produces. Even
though my own tests using 3rd party diagnostic software also
recorded a score in the bottom 3% of its class, the laptop was
returned from Sony with a report that no hardware problems could be
    found.

To avoid typing out all the details again, I have attached the
original letter. I've really appreciated the follow-up calls from
Sony customer support and hope that the attached files further help
    us to make progress.

    Regards,

    M

No chance! I was a Sony fan before this. Have a PSP, Sony flashcard car stereo, Sony speakers, my previous laptop was a Vaio too. I have 2 Sony-Eric mobiles, a Sony Triniton TV, Sony digicam etc. Never again. :(

I might have been a loyal customer but I'm not willing to put up with 10 emails and several phone calls going unanswered.

I just finally had a phone call back from Sony. They have informed me that the model I bought, that was widely advertised as being Vista premium ready, was later discovered to not be so, and the lady admitted that it had been incorrectly advertised by Sony.

She said that other people had previously been told about this and had been 'offered solutions' but she was unable to refund / compensate because she is 'part of Sony's aftersales service'!!!

The main reason I bought a new Vaio was so I could fully run Vista. Now I realise I've wasted >£700 due to their false advertising and there seems to be no comeback.

write down the name and rep ID of the women on the phone. file a lawsuit in small claim court. sony will send you a free SZ before the court date... LOL

having one of their employee openly admit the fault and not offer compensation? dumbest thing I ever heard
