DRIVING ME INSANE!!! someone help

so.. i bought a sony viao FW 140D back in october, i love this laptop, but im having problems with a few programs... and i need help

so far its with powerpoint / office (word) / and pre installed adobe photoshop elements...

the problem is that the program opens, but when i try to write, or open an already existing document it shuts down the program on me... completely justr stops working...

this is a huge problem since i have ALL of my lecture notes on my laptop and am essentially dead in the water without them...

is this a common problem with anyone who knows how to fix it... is this a problem with vista (my first vista machine so i dont know all the headaches yet) or is this a problem with MS Office...

who if anyone can i take this to to fix it... do i send it back to sony to fix it since i think its vista thats the problem since its more than just the MS Offics i installed thats having problems...

any and all help would be great please please help.. thank you

I can't help you with MS stuff, but I can suggest that you download the free Open Office suite. The functionality are very similar, and can read and write in ms format if you want.

Do a clean install. It may solve your problems.

 

have you install sp1 on you vista?

do mean word just close no errorrs or anything might want to check event log word shound,nt just crash
