    DVD Firmware update failed

    I have just downloaded and upgraded firmware for my Sony notebook Sz381 P/X DVD.

    It doesn't work. I got an error message that said: "F/W Loader does not apply to the DVD/CD-RW drive that you are using."


    The instruction said that the firmware is for Matsushita UJ-842, mine is listed as Matsushita UJ-842D in the device manager. Is that why it doesn't work?

    i got the same message but at the end it says firmware upgrade finish!

    i think its sony's fault!

    I successfully ran mine, and my model number now shows the D at the end. Probably the firmware revision after the update.
