    Hi

After my hard drive died on my SZ160, I replaced the fujitsu 80GB drive with a Western Digital Scorpio 120GB. It's a real nice drive btw, it's lighter than the fujitsu and is dead quiet I can barely hear it.. much more quiet than the fujitsu.

Anyhow, I made the unfortunate discovery that the 2 restore DVDs I had burnt a few months ago are damage and can't be used. Luckily I had made a copy of all drivers as described in a thread earlier on how to install a clean copy of Windows XP.

Now I have everything working, but no DVD player. Where can I find the Sony DVD player that comes pre-loaded with the Sony Vaio SZ series ?

    Thank you
    Jean-Yves

I don't know about the Sony player, but VideoLan is free and works quite well.

There are a few DVDs that do not play in VLC unfortunately (like Law & Order), the reason being it doesn't play DVDs in the official manner (using keys), so if a DVD is checking the DVD player you're using: it won't play
