For a while now I had experienced a few dead pixels on my vn-sz220, I had tried all the little tricks people talked about in the forums, nothing worked but then I noticed something. If I looked at the pixels from an angle it seemed like the effected pixel changed.

It turned out there were 4 dust particles that somehow settled between the lcd panel and the lcd light, creating an illusion that there were dead pixels.

My laptop lcd was very simple to take apart, only 8 screws and I was able to use an air duster and blow the dust out from between the light and the lcd glass. Now my laptop screen is back to normal again.

Has anyone else experienced this problem? I was suprized dust was able to get in between there, you would think sony would do a better job of sealing that off...

I would think someone else manufactures the LCD screens and sony just puts em on laptops, no?

Sony doesn't make the LCD panels. At least for the TZ, Toshiba/Matsu****a makes them.
