    Anyone try to bargain with the sales reps at Sony Store? Possible? I was told no in Toronto Canada.

    Actually, it must have been a slow day when I was there (St. Louis, MO), and I might go back when I'm ready to purchase, because they offered me a 10% student discount on a Z-540 (1999.99 + 10% off). I had told him I wasn't a student and didn't have any ID, he said he didn't care.

    Those guys are like car salesmen the way they flock around me everytime I walk in!

    Yes, I was given $100 off my laptop at a Vancouver area Sony Store. They won't budge past this though, at least on the z.

    i think you can almost always get $100 off a notebook everytime you walk in the store ... it's their sales pitch so you'll 'buy now'

    interesting...I got $50 max off the phone and as I said none in the store, but then again everyone was standing around and not helping one bit.

    That is something new. I just went to the Costa Mesa Sony Style store today and there is no discount for Z.

    According their sales rep. All their stores in US do not offer discount in additional to their online price.
