Like the title says I ordered an SVZ for various reasons and hopefully it'll be a nice upgrade to my Z1390X.

    Configuration:
    US-SVZ131190X-LBOM-2
    Component: Power Media Dock™ with AMD Radeon™ HD 7670M (1GB ) graphics and Blu-ray Disc™ player / burner
    Component: 3rd gen Intel® Core™ i7-3612QM quad-core processor (2.10GHz / 3.10GHz with Turbo Boost)
    Component: Intel® HD Graphics 4000
    Component: Windows® 7 Professional 64-bit
    Component: Microsoft® Office 2010 Starter
    Component: Fresh Start
    Component: No additional AntiVirus software
Component: 13.1" LED backlit Full HD display (1920 x 1080)
Component: 512GB (256GB x2) solid state drive with RAID 0
    Component: 8GB (4GB x2 fixed onboard) DDR3-1600Mhz
Component: Internal lithium polymer battery (4000mAh)
    Component: Premium Carbon Fiber Black

Plan to order the sheet battery off Amazon since it's much cheaper than compared to Sony. I'm thinking about getting a VGP-CKZ3 case made for this model Z but they were never sold in the States. Hopefully I can retrofit my existing Mach 3 carbon fiber case to fit the Z2 as it's a bit wider. I'm also looking at keyboard protectors and will likely clearbra the computer like I did to the Z13 (it's held up really well for two years now!).

We'll see how well this works for design classes which require the Adobe Suite, Solidworks, and Rhino. I don't think it'll do too bad as the majority of computers in the program are MacBook Pro 15" from 2010 or 2011.

Cheers! I can't wait until it comes!

    Congrats.

I have the original mach 3 case as well, got it for my Z11. The case fits fine. It's absolutely a perfect fit in width. Obviously it's way thicker than needed but at least you can use the sheet battery with it.

Did you get the Mach 3 Case made specifically for the Z1 which has added foam/fabric pieces added to the inside edges? Or did you have the original case where the Z1 would be slightly loose inside?
Either way, glad to hear the Z2 fits perfectly inside! No need to buy another Mach 3 case- heh.

The nice thing about that is you don't have to buy another PMD.

Can someone do me a favor and measure the surface where the keyboard/ palmrest area is. I want to get a custom cut microfiber cloth that I can place between the screen and palmrest so the two won't scratch each other. Can someone give me the dimensions for that whole area edge to edge?

    Thanks!

I have the original pre-modded one. When I mean it's a perfect fit (width wise) i mean perfect. If I leave a logitech nano usb receiver plugged in, it won't fit, lol.
