Hello first,
I have the following laptop model: Sony Vaio SVE1511Q1EB
After a minor accident, the screen had a crack. You could still work properly with it, though. It just didn't look very nice, which is why I decided to replace the display.
So I ordered a new Display -> payed -> installed it; BUT: Unfortunately the backlight doesn't work now anymore. When I connect the laptop to a Computer Monitor or to the TV, though, it works properly, so I don't think the problem lies in the graphics card.
Since I'm NOT using an LCD-Display but LED the CCFL inverter can't be the reason for the defective backlight as well.
Then I tried to connect my old display again, where the backlight worked properly. However, the same error appeared with the old display now. So replacing the display again, won't solve the problem as well.
I assume that while exchanging the displays, I have somehow damaged the display cable and that this is the reason for the defective backlight. But since I don't have any experience with display cables, I'm not sure.
Is there anything else, that could be the reason?
What do you think is the problem and how do I solve and repair it?
I would appreciate fast answers, but I'm also grateful for any help I can get.
Greetings
