Just got myself a Dekcell (BL-5314H which replaces the VGP-BPL5A) battery for my Sony TX36 but just can't get it to work with my laptop. Error message kept showing that the battery is not original and prompt me to hibernate the PC and install another battery. Can't remove the error message as well. Battery is charging ok but just cannot get rid of the error message.

Is there any way to get the laptop to accept 3rd party battery? Some suggested re-installing OS while some suggested tweaking the BIOS. My TX36 is out of warranty so I can fiddle with it anyway I want. Suggestion pls... Thanks.

Found the solution in one of the thread...

Uninstall the sony vaio battery checker utility or disable isbmgr.exe from running at startup with msconfig (click start->run and type msconfig).

Now battery is charging without the error message. Le's hope the battery will turn out fine...
