Is it possible to output WQHD through HDMI or VGA on this machine? Or would the output resolution be limited to 1920*1200?
Has anyone tried? Does anyone here have the chance to try it, for me and anyone else wondering?
I'd prefer to use the HDMI, as I've had a number of bad experiences with VGA quality/noise.
The thing is, I could ask for a U2711 at work, but it seems like a bad idea if the laptop doesn't even support it.
Cheers!

From what I understand about the Sony Z which uses Sony's own video drivers like on your SA, you're limited to 1980X1200 via HDMI. With that said, there has been at least one member (computercowboy) who got this monitor running on his Z. He had to use hacked graphics card drivers in order to get it working.

If you own the SA and have the monitor at work, why don't you bring it to work to try it out? -
I don't have the monitor, but I could request it to be bought if I wanted, but I'd better know if it works first
Thanks for the link! -
I have Vaio SA, and U2711....
Not going to work above 1920x1200, without EDID mod, and will have to use ~35Hz refresh rate to get 2560x1440.
Use these instructions instead.
