    Just wanted some opinions here - I have a Dell XPS M1210 with Core 2 Duo 7200, 200GB 7200 RPM Drive, 4 GB Ram, Pre N Wi-Fi, and A&T 3G modem.

Was thinking of upgrading to the SZ650 and taking the hard drive and RAM from the Dell.

Do you think I would be gaining much. Expensive upgrade for $1800.

Not really worth it IMO. Plus changing the HDD in a Sony SZ isn't as easy as other notebooks. Depending what you are doing you won't feel the difference in speed, most likely you will never feel it. Only difference might be you holding a nicer looking machine. I'd just keep the Dell.

Yes - that is what I am thinking - i am wondering if there is a significant difference between the 7400 video card and the 8400 vidoe card - I mean I know one is newer so it should have some level of increased performance.

I believe the 8400gs is a better video card considering it is a newer DX10 GPU. However, it is still 64mb and doesn't show a significant increase in performance when compared to the 7400go. Someone can correct me if I am wrong. Just pick up a real gaming laptop if you want to game =P. Something along the line of a 8600gt.

Not worth it. You will get a much bigger change if you wait for the Montevina platform. 45nm processors with more performance while using less power.

What do you want to do with it?
