I just turned on my Z11 and noticed a cluster of dead pixels in the shape of a diamond with a few more dots in the middle. Aboud the diameter of a pea.
I have seen physically damaged lcds and from what I have seen they don't just look like dead pixels. (There is no cracking in this case it simply looks like a bunch of dead/stuck pixels).
I will try and take a picture of it later from my SLR as my phone's camera doesn't show it very well but what do you think are the odds that Sony will say it is physically damaged and do you think it is possible it is a defect and not physical.
To my knowledge I didn't physically damage it but I do take it to and from school daily however I always have it protected in a padded sleeve or padded case.
THanks.
**ADD** I should add that they are colored blue and pink. I also tried to unstick them with that java unstick program.

Here is a picture of the issue (i'm actually impressed with my SLR):
The only other thing that I did unusual today was hook it up to a projector in one of my classes. That is the only thing I did which was out of the ordinary. Only thing I can think of is the computer automatically went to a resolution lower than supported? -
Looking bad but not exactly like dead pixels. Did you test with RED, GREEN and BLUE (just use paint and drag the image there) if there are some black "holes" in those colors? That would make it clear that there are defective subpixels. Do you get that in the BIOS menu?
If one of those questions can be answered with yes, I suggest get a repair or a replacement LCD. -
I tried the RGB test and those areas stayed dark.
I have just arranged with sony for servicing.
Funny enough, the monkey on the phone told me I have to send it to Simi Valley from Canada! Even though I had a repair on the west coast sent to Vancouver. I don't know what's up with that.
Luckily I am able to drive to Somerset in Detroit (I live in Windsor). -
They definitely do not look like dead pixels. Have you tried swaping between stamina and speed, in order to eliminate one of the video cards being faulty?

Yes, I have also plugged it into my ext. monitor to see if they exist on the ext. but they do not.
I'll keep y'all updated on my progress. -
Here is an update, I rubbed the spots with my finger with some pressure and I seemed to be able to rub them out. It isn't fixed 100% but it is BARELY unnoticeable. I'm sure this was a defect though and if it comes back the way it was I will take it in. I'm sure they won't replace it now because its nearly impossible to see.
