Just ordered mine...set up for a Wednesday shipment.

 

everyone quiet here today ? Thought many here would be getting be their z's today

 

You just ordered yours and it's shipping Wednesday? What the? Did you get CTO or ready-to-ship?

My CTO order from last week still shows estimate of 4/6 shipping.

I ordered friday ie 26th and I am getting it tom 3/30. Guess they have tons of sig z now

 

I was promised a shipping day of the 29th, but the night is nearly over and i still have no shipping info. anyone have similar experience?

 

When my CTO Z11 shipped the afternoon of the 23rd, I didn't receive shipping notification until the morning of the 24th.

 

damn the specs on this model are godly... congrats to those who ordered and received their new laptops. I can never justify dropping $5k on a laptop tho.

 

I got mine today, arrived earlier than promised (AM vs PM delivery).

Comparing it to a CTO Z w/ 1600x900 and i5, the screen is noticeably dimmer at max. I started a new thread to discuss... Maybe mine is unique or I'm mising something.

Will definitely be keeping one of the newgen Z's, just might not be the FH/XQ.

Did you try turning off the auto brightness of the screen?

Turning it off will enable you to make the screen even brighter.

 

Mine shipped today, one day ahead of schedule. My shipping was bumped up to overnight, so it is scheduled for an afternoon delivery tomorrow

Looks like Sony is making their updated ship dates.

 

Well, mine was canceled with no reason. I called and got it re-ordered, but they said they could not use my original order number. That was highly frustrating, as it was due to ship tomorrow.

They did give me express shipping for free (I had paid for two-day shipping on my original order, which my large capacity battery is shipping by as we speak). But I'm frustrated that I'm now pushed back behind people I ordered before when I placed the order yesterday.

So...I have no idea when this is going to arrive.

 

still have no update on my as the estimated shipping date was one 3/29. I wonder if this is normal, or if the item is being delayed. growing increasingly frustrated with sony.

 

My order (ordered on 3/13), after being in "Shipping Update," today changed to "Processing" with estimated ship date 3/31 (tomorrow!). So, initial generated shipping date of 3/23 was overly optimistic and shipping date of 4/6 given by representative on the phone was overly pessimistic. Let's see what tomorrow brings. Have not received any e-mails yet.

 

How to switch off auto brightness? do i have to change all the power plans to do that? Thx

I am going to put X25-E SSD inside instead of DVD tonight, and I will check if EFI can be unlocked for hidden options as before

 

Is it DVD or blue ray? thought the sig version only came with a blue ray

I received my today 3/31 as shown on the Sony site.

My order got canceled -- "estimated shipping dated 3/29" -- because sony doesnt know how to process a simple gift card, and because they dont have the common sense to call anyone to work out the payment arrangement. Anyhow, i complained my off and recieved a 20% discount (a cool $900 discount) which was nice. But still, now my order wont ship out until 4/15

 

Same happened with me too. My order got cancelled the day it was supposed to ship. But luckily my new order came within 3 days. Hang on...the wait is worth it.

 

Still no notebook. Sony support is alternating between not being able to figure out what is going on, and telling me that it might ship after 4/15.

The system still reports "Ready for Shipment", "Estimated Ship Date 3/29". Today is 4/5.

I have attempted to cancel my order, because 4/15 is too late for me. I've been told that the order cannot be cancelled.

This has been a remarkably poor customer service experience and very broken order tracking system. I'm disappointed and cannot recommend that anyone order from sonystyle online, despite the great display specs.

 

Well, got a notice finally today that my order was canceled. Not because the cancellation was requested, but because of a financial transaction error. of course, i have verified the status of my accounts and they are in fine shape.

the item now shows 'out of stock', and the agents say they are no longer orderable.

it was crazy that i was willing to pay an extra $2500 for what should have been a $50 CTO option. perhaps sony will enable the 1920x1280 display on US CTOs sometime and I will consider again. frankly, i'd rather have the underpowered CPU if i could configure it myself.

or perhaps a vendor with a much better sense of customer experience will decide to release something with similar resolution in a small form factor. that would make me happier, as dealing with SonyStyle has been a really unpleasant pain in the .
