    Hi. I have been looking around to determine the difference between the Vaio VPCZ122GX and VPCZ112GX. Are there any differences between these two laptops? Thanks!

    this is by far the difference of VPCZ11 and VPCZ12;

    In terms of SSD, VPCZ11 is Quad SSD, while VPCZ12 for 256 GB SSD is Quad SSD, for 128 GB SSD is Dual SSD.

    In terms of Touchpad, VPCZ11 has "Intelligent Touchpad" while VPCZ12 has "Multi Gesture compatible" touchpad.

    Also VPCZ12 has the Glossy Carbon color...

    I don't think there is any difference between Z112GX and Z122GX, unless there is some obvious spec difference.

    Perhaps the only internal difference is the Z12 uses Toshiba SSDs instead of Samsung or whatever. But this doesn't have any appreciable effects.

    Thanks. It seems like both of them will be future proof for a while. I was contemplating between the difference in cost between them.

    Assuming you are looking at the same config, buy the Z112 if it's cheaper.

    I didn't notice, but do both of them have the integrated GOBI (Mobile Broadband) card built-in. If they both do, there is one difference between them. In talking with a Sony Style rep, I was told that the Z12 has additional hardware incorporated to allow the My-Fi broadband connection sharing that is new with this refresh.

    Of course, if neither have the GOBI card, there really isn't any tangible difference between them.

    FYI, the multi-gesture scrolling on the Z12 is kinda clunky. Not as smooth as a Mac.
