    Differences between SZ260, 270, 280

    Well, it looks to me as though the 260 is just the retail version of the 270 available on Sony's website. And if you want to know the differences between the 270 and 280 you can go to Sontystyle.com and compare the specs side by side.

    260 standard carbon fiber (not textured)
    270 is 260 with Cingular Edge Wireless
    280 is same as above with premium carbon fiber lid.

    Thanks. I am considering to take the SZ260, since Cingular Edge Wireless is useless and premium carbon fiber is costly. Hope that the price is going down by 20% by the end of Aug as the introduction of Core2.

    Actually, the SZ280 just has better parts than the SZ270 and 60 (more RAM, faster CPU) , but still has the normal Carbon Fiber Lid. The SZ281 is the laptop that has the Premium Carbon Fiber lid.

    I agree. Probably should have made one when the SZ1XX models first hit the streets. Then we would have to decide whether or not to stick to just the North American models, or also include the European and Japanese which are again different. Sony's darn naming schemes are so convoluted....
