I have an SZ780, and the battery included with the machine was a VGP-BPS10.

When I search online for SZ batteries, most sites seem to indicate that the SZ series uses batteries VGP-BPS2 (standard) or BGB-VPL2 (high-cap).

Are these batteries interchangeable or does the SZ 700 series use a different battery than the rest of the SZ series?

sz 700 batteries are the same with the sz600 series. The series below sz600 uses bps2 which has a 11.1v rating. The newer sz battery which is bps10 has a rating of 10.8v. So it is not interchangeable.

They aren't interchangeable, becouse the VGP-BP2 and VPL2 simple don't fit.
